Reading from Wednesday, February 20, 2013 yoga class
I went to a workshop in Winchester Kentucky a few years back at a place called "The Om Place." Beautiful studio out in the middle of nowhere with a lovely teacher named Erin. She sends out a newsletter and I quote from it:
"Winter gets me down. And about now, I. am. just. over. it. When the winter blues start dragging me down, I know it's times to eat more vegetables and write more in my gratitude journal. If I can't have sun on my face, at least I can have sun in my heart. So... here are a few things helping me cope right now. I'm grateful that there are only (13) days until Daylight Savings Time. Grateful that Spring is 10 days after that. I'm feeling grateful for warm soup, my toasty studio stove, and smart wool socks. Grateful for a kindle full of new books, my favorite mug filled with yogi tea (and sometimes bourbon), Legs up the Wall pose, for my beautiful studio and my students who continue to teach me more than I'll ever teach them. If you too are feeling like winter will never end, take a breath and list 10 things you are grateful for in this moment. Notice how that simple act changes it all."
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...... here are 10 things I am grateful for right now, in no particular order.
Clifty Falls State Park
College basketball on TV
The great pictures my cell phone takes
All my cats, especially our two new kittens
My boss, who pays me so well
Supported Bridge Pose
Morning and evening walks
Vets who take care of our animals
Les Miserables soundtrack
Balsam Fir scented candles
So... what are YOU grateful for right at this moment? The little things in life are the big things!!!
