Reading from Tuesday, September 24, 2013 yoga class
I went to Louisville Saturday morning to Yoga East and took a class with my teacher Laura Spaulding. I just love her. She will ALWAYS be my favorite, best teacher... the one I have learned the most from. I had not been to her class since March 2013 for various reasons, but when I walked into the studio and she saw me, she did a double take and then we hugged...two big hugs. No words were necessary. There is a connection between us that makes words unnecessary. During class she told everyone that if you do a yoga pose 200 times you will "get it" and if you do a yoga pose 2,000 times you will "master it." Good advice!! I took her good energy and teachings with me as I drove home.
Which brings to mind this quote from Albert Schweitzer which is in the "Life is a verb" book by Patti Digh.
"In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being . We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit."
And another quote from Sir James M. Barrie:
"Shall we make a new rule of life from tonight: always to try to be a little kinder than is necessary."
