Only one lesson

Reading from Wednesday, November 20, 2013 yoga class

"In the entire path of yoga, there is really only one lesson.  It is the one lesson we have to learn over and over again.  And each time, it arrives as an epiphany...whenever we relinquish our craving, clinging and grasping, whenever we stop the war with reality, whenever we are totally present and undivided, we are immediately in union with our true nature...try to do everything with a mind that let's go.  Do not expect any praise or reward.  If you let go a little, you will have a little peace.  If you let go a lot, you will have a lot of peace.  If you let go completely, you will know complete peace and freedom.  Your struggles with the world will have come to an end.  Such a simple lesson.  Such a difficult lesson."

From the book "Yoga and quest for the true self"  by Stephen Cope

I know I have probably quoted this passage some other place in this blog, but like Mr. Cope says, it is a lesson I have to learn over and over and over and over again.  I am not quite there yet!!!
