Reading from Wednesday, December 4, 2013 yoga class
I found the following in one of my notebooks... I don't know who said it or where I found it, but I want to share it.
Stillpoint- where the body can reset itself- a sense of stillness. To find this in a yoga asana: When the body is fully supported, you can find the subtle movement in your body with patience and years of practice and an inner ear to listen to your body. The pause between the pose is powerful. The pause between the right side and the left side. When we pause we connect to the listening part of the asana... and when the pause is held longer, that is the stillpoint where the body can reset its own clock. Allow this sense of stillness, ease... a mindful ease, makes the ease much more potent.
The following is from the notes I took during my restorative training with Judith Lasater:
"The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind a faithful servant, said Albert Einstein. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift."
