Moving in the direction of

Reading from Wednesday, April 30, 2014 yoga class

I am off on Friday to Yellowsprings, Ohio and another workshop with Judith Lasater.  I am SO excited.  I pulled out my notes from my restorative training back in May/June of 2012.  Here are some of the highlights of Judith's wise words.

On every page of my notes that I typed out after getting home were the words:  MOVING IN THE DIRECTION OF...    Fill in the blank.  :)

People are stressed about our attitude towards time.  Don't say there is NOT enough time because then you WON'T have enough time.  Another way that you could say it would be:  Apparently, I didn't give myself enough time to complete this task.  TIME IS BIG!!!  Everyone has the same amount of time.

Every thought you have has a physiological aspect.

We have confused being busy with meaning in our lives.  We DON'T have to be busy to have meaning in our lives.  We need to create spaciousness in our lives.

Create space in your life.  Emptiness is not a mistake.

Uni-tasking.  Listen with your ears and your heart.  Do one thing at a time.  Stop what you are doing and give everyone your complete attention.  Listen.  Human beings deserve your complete and full attention.

Just DRIVE.

Go to bed a half an hour early.

We are busy because we want to be loved.  It's not the doing that makes people love us.  The ability to love WITHOUT cause: ourselves, others, the world.  You can't do this if you are stressed.  This work is BIG.

Restorative yoga allows the body to heal itself.

The power of restorative yoga is that we choose it.

Feel sad when you're sad.  Feel angry when you're angry.  Feel confused when you're confused.  Be it!!  This is what our work is about... being an authentic Human Being.  To become a bigger container to hold all these emotions.  BE PRESENT!!
