Reading from Wednesday, July 2, 2014 and Tuesday, July 8, 2014 yoga class
I found an article in a Yoga Living magazine... an interview with Leslie Kaminoff. I subscribe to his weekly posts and he is an expert in anatomy and I have learned so much by watching these posts. In this interview with him, they ask him the following question:
What advice would you give to any practitioner of yoga to enhance their practice?
Pay attention to your breathing. Pay attention to how the movements of your body are related to the movements of your breath. That's the most important thing for any practitioner whether they are a beginner or more advanced in their practice. The breath is the ultimate teacher of yoga. It teaches us about our bodies, it teaches us about our mind, it teaches us about the human condition because breathing is both voluntary and autonomic. It encompasses all of the things that we have some control over and all of the things that we cannot control and must surrender to. This goes right to the heart of how Yoga practice is defined.
