From the book "The Second Half of Life" by Angeles Arrien
"In At Seventy, writer May Sarton recounted how, during a poetry reading at a Connecticut college, she mentioned, "This is the best time of my life--I love being old." Someone challenged her and asked loudly, "Why is it good to be old?" Sarton answered, "Because I am more myself than I have ever been. There is less conflict. I am happier, more balanced...and more powerful."
I so identify with this quote. Every year I live I find myself relaxing into the REAL me... without veils, masks...trying to be someone I am not. It is liberating and makes life much easier.
