Low down in a room

Reading from Wednesday, September 17, 2014 yoga class

From the book, "Moving Toward Balance" by Rodney Yee

In my opinion, you can't go wrong with Rodney Yee.  I pulled this book off my shelf the other day and it is SUCH a good book with a wealth of information.  The following are a couple of quotes by other people that appear in the book.

"Yoga is not an external experience.  In yoga we try in every action to be attentive as possible to everything we do...As we perform the various asanas we observe what we are doing and how we are doing it...If we do not pay attention to ourselves in our practice, then we cannot call it yoga."

                                                                                                   T. K. V. Desikachar

"Just being low down in a room tends to clear the mind.  Maybe it's because being on the floor is so foreign to us that it breaks up our habitual neurological patterning and invites us to enter into this moment through a sudden opening in what we might call the body door."

                                                                                                   Jon Kabat-Zinn
