From the book, "Stirring the Waters" by Janell Moon
"Anais Nin writes: "We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another, unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past, the present, the future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations." Once we know this, peace of mind circles us always because we are always growing.
Transitions are the winding road of life. There's a time that comes after every beginning and plateau and ending. There's a time before a beginning again. To acknowledge that change will come is to better help us enjoy beginnings and plateaus with gratitude. When change comes, we bow to the maker and allow it to lead us.
Let today be your miracle. Notice what is in front of you and give thanks for it. An old Eskimo proverb says "Yesterday is ashes, tomorrow wood. Only today does the fire burn brightly."
