Reading from Wednesday, June 10, 2015 yoga class
I read a post entitled "Yoga, Pain Management, and sound therapy" posted on the Yoga for Healthy Aging website. My summary of the article.
Everybody has their own unique sound, unique vibration. The basic principle of sound therapy is that the tune, pitch and arrangement of the musical notes have a major impact on a person's body, mind and spirit. Pleasant and relaxing sound shift the predominant beta brave waves (which keep us alert, but stressed) to alpha waves which puts the individual in the Zone/Flow, which brings improved focus and concentration which then releases the feel good brain chemicals, such as endorphins and dopamine.
Sounds alter the energy patterns in the body and mind. Studies have show that chanting mantras, such as OM, lessen pain, give the body more flexibility and enhances movement,
SOUND IS HEALING. So, chant more!! :)
