Live your life at 4000 Watt

Reading from Wednesday, April 27, 2016 yoga class

I have not been very dedicated to posting on this blog and I really don't know why.  But today, my intention and my attention has brought me here to post what I read to class tonight.   I found it on Danny Arguetty's website. I sorta of put it in my own words along with other things I have read recently and my reflections at being at Shasta Abbey earlier this month.  I hope it makes you pause.

Most people live their lives at the brightness of a 40 watt bulb, but those who are living their yoga are able to amp up from 40 to 4000 watts.  How??? By being fully present with intention and attention.

Our potential is endless, but so many people make daily choices that end up dimming their lights such as:   Constant worry; Greed; Negativity; Thoughts of unworthiness; Sugar; Over consumption of alcohol; Self-induced drama; Lack of movement; Lack of sunshine and fresh air; Too much media, ie Facebook, texting, tethered to phones.

All these habit have an effect on our bodies and impact our nervous systems.  When we make these choices that dim our light it dampens the nervous system in doing its job at optimal capacity.  The greatest weapon against stress is our ability of choose one thought over another.

To pause and be still will let our lights just shine out. So... how bright are you shining your light?
