2nd Klesha- Asmita (false sense of identity) Trigger: SELF JUDGMENT
Part of this journey of self-discovery is keeping an open and non-judgmental mind. Can we reconsider our position on the way we see ourselves? See ourselves with more compassion than with judgmental ego? This judgmental ego causes us to try and live our lives trying to uphold a perfect picture of ourselves or who we think we ought to be, thus creating stress. So... what do you hear from yourself?
I will never be able to do that
I am not capable
I could never
It's too difficult for me
I am not worthy of that.
Drop the old view of you, to the real you! Some good questions to ask:
How do I hope others see me?
What do I hope others don't see in me?
What do I admire most in others?
Can I focus on that quality for myself?
Then, be honest with your answers and see if you can read them WITHOUT judgment.
And another perspective from Pema Chodron ..."Finally, never give up on yourself. Then you will never give up on others. Wholeheartedly do what it takes to awaken your clear-seeing intelligence, but one day at a time, one moment at a time. If we live that way, we will benefit this earth."
